We are three - Birds of a Feather

Are you set for a new "anything goes" challenge at Creative Fingers.
We are sponsored by We are Three this fortnight and I got to play with Birds of a Feather.
I kept things simple, matching the basket weave of the nest with the weave pattern of the embossing folder.   Again adding my new addiction of Nuvo drops to the card.. I cant seem to get enough of them!

Looking forward to seeing your creations, over on the Creative Fingers Blog.

Sasayaki Glitter Challenge Reminder.

I got given this image months ago for a themed challenge and then promptly forgot to use it.  So time to redeem myself with a post.   Despite me having loads of Xmas cards on hand for the year, I cant stop making more.   Im not sure if its because glitter is a must have or the pops of red make me happy.   I had to laugh with my overload of enamel dots.  I bumped the top one and it decided it wanted to be anything but round.   Im slowly getting used to the Nuvo drops, and it appears nothing is safe from having them added... its nearly as bad as the bedazzling phaze of years past.

Winter Kiddles can be found in the store.

Now its your turn to share, we are all eagerly awaiting your entries into the challenge for the month.
Also have you seen the group over on facebook, there is a monthly progressive challenge to play in.

Creative Fingers Challenge

This Challenge is sponsored by Bugaboo Digital Stamps
I had fun with this project.  Here is the story why.
I spent the morning cleaning up and found out that I had way to many cards, now of course I knew that but when I actually sorted them I was a touch overwhelmed.

So what to do when you dont want to add another card to the stash.  You grab a kraft pouch from yet another drawer of goodies and you make a Christmas Pouch just begging for a gift card or cash to be added to it at Christmas time.

I love how it turned out and Im going to make more.   Win Win situation, a craft project completed and a gift ready to go (once a gift card is added.. if i get generous!)

Head on over to the Challenge Blog and show us what you are creating this week!

Sasayaki Glitter New Release

I coloured up this image weeks ago when I was on sick leave, I spent hours and hours colouring up images while following along with Kit and Clowder's party.

When I got this image I knew I wanted it to be grounded and was initially thinking of caves or rocks but I then remembered my airbrush system that I NEVER use and out it came.   I printed the image and also printed a mask.  Then the fun began.   I wanted a very simple sentiment to highlight the image.

How are you all going to play in this new release/challenge?

Have you ever just thought why not when an opportunity is presented.  Recently Sasayaki Glitter had a DT call and I put my hand in the ring for a chance.. Creative Fingers - Bugaboo

Bugaboo has kindly sponsored us at Creative Fingers this week and I was lucky enough to choose an image to play with, Buggiraffe Blocks 3 popped out as something I wanted to play with.

I used one of the three blocks for this card.  I was trying out copics on Kraft, Im not sure if I like it or not.  I also tried pencil on kraft too.. but I trashed it.

I knew I had to search my stash for the Giraffe pattern paper and once i found it, I decided clean and simple was the name of the game for the card.

We are looking forward to seeing your creations this fortnight over on the challenge blog.

Im going to play in the following challenges this week

Card Making Frenzy Long weekend.

I have made lots of cards this weekend and used varied images.  Clearly Besotted (yet to be posted), Tiddly Inks and now Teddybo.   Gayle (our TB creator) drew up some Chibi images and this image below called my name.   The Chibi's are in the store at www.teddybo.com  so be sure to go and visit and check them out.

I spoke earlier about refilling my copic's!  Well BG11 was completely dry after this, but how vibrant is that teal pop of colour.  I used bg15,13 and 11 and then added b02 to give it some pop.  A new combo for me.

I used a card sketch from Mojo Monday.  The sketches have come to an end. I am so glad they will still be available for use though.  I search Card Sketch and images on google for ideas when I have none!

Challenges

Products
Unicorn Chibi (Teddybo)
White card base with distress oxide blending (using a shaving brush to add colour)

Long weekend colouring - Tiddly inks

I am finding myself loving colouring while watching TV and relaxing.  I went through my digital images for Tiddly Inks and clicked on the Sunny Day Wryn.    The current challenge over on the Tiddly Ink challenge blog is Make it Rectangle.  So out came the cutter and the rectangles were made.

Im still working on the remnants in the drawer and flicked through them and came across the orange simple background paper, which worked perfectly with the image I coloured last night.   I seem to be in an orange frame of mind this week.   To be honest, the colours were already out from the card I had made previously.  I just deepened them a little by adding some red to it.

I used my paper distresser and some vintage photo ink on the edges of the card stock.  Something I hadnt done in a while.   Not sure why I stopped doing that, I think i got caught up in the die cutting neat edge routine.

Tiddly Inks

Tiddly Inks is having a DT call.    Yep you read that correctly.   I went through my stash of lovely images from Tiddly Inks and remembered the stunning Spring Bling Wynn that I used in a Kit and Clowder class a while back.

Out came the Copic's and a card sketch from I love card sketches and wallah.   I chose to keep the card clean and simple as the DT call suggests you show them your style. With a card a week obligation I think clean and simple will be my go to card making style, so the image can pop!

Products used
CTMH patterned paper
Embossing paste
Memory Box stencil
Amy R Big sentiments
SSS black ink
Cameo (for the circles, cause i was too lazy to use my big shot)
Copics
Premade card base
Remnants of white and black card stock from the stash

Wink Wink Ink for Creative Memories

We are happily sponsored by Wink Wink Ink this week and how beautiful is the image I got to use.  Its my first go at no line colouring and I sort of had fun with it.  Its weird working with faint lines but also a little bit forgiving at the same time.

The image is called Love Tree Hearts and Leaves.

We are very much looking forward seeing what you create for this challenge, please head on over to the challenge blog and enter up your fabulous creations!

Creative Fingers - Teddybo

Cross over with my DT's for this challenge and also a DUH moment as I realise that the first card I'm showing was never posted for last fortnights challenge.   I'm using a redrawn image from Teddybo for
Creative Fingers.   I LOVE the fawn images from Teddybo so I am busting to share this card with you all.   I had an idea of having the fawn peeking around inquisitively, like its looking through a window.  I am usually really critical of my work but I love how this turned out.
This morning when I was cleaning up, I had the thought that this would of been cool as a
shaker card too.

I hope you enjoy this card (that i forgot to post) and the card lower down in the post using another teddybo image who is todays sponsor.

So my newest card below, I had so much fun playing with this, shapes, folds and colours.  Originally I was a bit intimidated by the image but once I started to add colour and decided there were no rules I just went for it.   I love how the image pops off the card.  There is the opportunity to make this card simple or detailed depending on how you use the image.  I wasn't happy until those little dots were added to Bea's dress.   Im working hard on using a new sentiment on each card (making use of my sentiment stash finally)

Now its your turn.. off to the challenge blog with you all to enter up your anything goes creations and off to our sponsor page at Teddybo and why not visit the Facebook group too for more inspiration.

Creative Fingers Challenge

Its time for another challenge at Creative Fingers.  I must apologise for anyone waiting for a comment from me on their posts from the last challenge.. I will be checking projects this weekend and sending crafting love.

The fortnight however is all about our Sponsor Bugaboo who is always so generous with her images and our team.   I used Funny Pup 2 for my card and I had fun.   The papers worked a treat to make the image pop too.

Now.. can I tell you about the card stock in this card.  All remnants, even the card base was made from remnants, but using a score tool on the back piece folding it over and glueing it to the front.  Worked a treat!

So for challenges I want to play in this week...

Don't forget to go to the Creative Fingers Challenge blog and link up your creations.
I dare you to use a Bugaboo image and try not to smile as you colour.. its impossible!

Crafting for a new baby

A colleague at work is going to be a Grandma again and I wanted to make a card for the new arrival.  Baby Phoebe is due to arrive this week and I got inspiration for this card from Facebook.  The image is from Digital Di and it was a delight to colour up.  Its called Baby Balloons B&W and i've linked it up for you to go and check it out.  There are so many images on this site, I feel a bit stupid that I haven't found this site before.   My intention was to colour this up in all pretty pinks but it got darker and darker and ended up with some red tones, I I kept going as it worked.. not often you can say that about colouring up reds!

Teddybo - April Subscription Bea

I coloured up this beauty at a recent craft retreat, and got stuck on the folds.  I decided to put it away and try again later and I'm glad I did.  What a delight of an image.  Have you all looked into the Subscription options for TeddyBo and Co?  So many options and so many images,  your going to be spoiled for choice.  I encourage you to investigate.

Im playing along with some challenges this week

Fancy Dress for Teddybo

How lovely is this image, I had to do some creative thinking as I made up this card.
The original image has the bear in "duck" feet and I coloured her up incorrectly, the only way for me to save the image was some plastic surgery and Im so thrilled with how the end card finished up.  I think its my favourite so far.

This is one of the new release april images from the Subscription from Teddybo.

The team has had their creative pants on and if you had over to Facebook, you should see a card or creation each day using the subscription images.

And in breaking news, each month the previous months images will go on sale.   The cost savings however are with a subscription package.

Technique - Distress inks and white pigment

When I was asked to come up with a technique to share  on the OddBallArt Blog, I was a bit worried.  I mean what can I share with such fabulous crafters.   I then remembered a very simple but effective technique using white pigment and coloured inks (in this case distress inks).

Tools
Scrap paper
Kraft Card Stock
Daubers or sponges
White pigment ink
Coloured inks (I used three colours of Distress)
Stencil with any pattern with large open areas
Baby wipes or cleaning tools to wipe off the stencil

How to's
Prepare your card stock, score and fold.  Then open onto your scrap paper.
Place your stencil on your Kraft card stock and using a dauber or sponge, add a generous layer of white ink to your card stock.  You dont need to apply ink to the whole stencil, pick and choose where you want to lay colour.  There are no rules here.

Let the white ink dry for a few minutes and wipe down your stencil and air dry it.

Place the stencil back over your card stock and offset it slightly in any direction.

Now grab some colour and a dauber and apply colour to the stencil areas.   The result is a two toned effect with the colour and a definite "how did you do that" comment from your friends.

Don't forget to clean up the stencil as your card dries.

Once you have your background, its time to make up your project, by adding one of the fabulous OddballArt images.

I first saw this technique on Kristina Werner's You Tube channel.  Here is a link to her blog showing it off with a cute Bats background.  She was more subtle than I was, with less white showing on the card.

Creative Fingers is happily sponsored by Lemon Shortbread this fortnight and I had a ball playing with my image.  Isn't she just lovely.

I had some fun playing with blending with this image, the hair and the wings are large enough spaces to play with colour to colour blends and ombre's.   I used the print and cut feature on my Cameo to trace and cut the image and then I layered her up on some simple dies.  The sentiment is from a lovely little set from CTMH.

Be sure to play along with our challenge at Creative Fingers this fortnight.

The Bears ... its all about the Bears..

Its time for a another bear to come to play on my blog... after my epic colouring craft weekend i'm spoiled for choice on what to share.

I encourage you to go and visit the Esty Teddybo page and check out the subscription choices.   You can choose 1,2, 3 or 4 subscriptions.  Each subscription has 6 images in it.  So 6 of Bo, 6 of Bea, 6 of them as a couple or 6 of Oli and Molly.   My suggestion is.. get all of them!   Once you see the prices you will realise the savings.

I have always loved the Teddybo tabs and panels so when I saw that this beauty was part of the subscription I was tickled pink.   My upcoming posts will have the card with the Bo version of this image.   They can be found in the couples subscription (THE BEARS).

Ive been working a little differently with my cards lately.  Colouring first and then making the card up later.   I am sort of chuffed with how this turned out.   I think it pops, maybe I'm biased though.

So challenge time..
Heart to Heart - Use atleast one CTMH product ( the baby birthday stamp and the bling)

Teddy Bo is back

I should of started with a warning to sit down, as your excitement at the heading to this post may of caused you to get excited.  I for one am cheering at the news that Teddy Bo and its creator Gayle Cook are back in craft land.   Not only that but she has her creative pants on in a big way.  Teddybo is now available as a subscription and there are various options available.  But get this.. 24images a month are going to be hitting our crafting tables.  You can choose from Bo, Bea, Bo and Bea (couples) and Oli and Molly (or it may be friends of Bea and Bo?) subscriptions.

Needless to say I have been colouring for 3 days and if not for work I wouldn't be stopping.   I finished 4 cards and still have images to pop on cards too.    So get ready for some Teddy inspiration over my next few posts.

The subscription information can be found HERE  and of course Facebook will have inspiration galore too.

So here is card number one

Undead Lani

Undead Leni is one of the New images in the store for February.   As soon as I saw her I wanted to layer her up to lean on a wall or a fence.  I used the PNG version of the image and ensured that she was at the front, so her elbow was over the wall.    Playing with the brick background was a fun way to test out colour combo's of bricks, without too much concern about how it would blend.  Lets face it, a brick is pretty forgiving in terms of colouring.

The card layout was made using MFT blueprints, and there is a T.Holtz scribble die thrown in there too.   What I love about this particular image is, she can be pretty or more dark.   By adding rosy cheeks and bright lips, i've kept her more sweet than "undead"

Until next time
