Polkadoodles Girly but no pink

At a recent retreat a friend and I were talking about cards for teachers and making this a little bit different and individual.  I coloured up the Teacher Digi from Work and Play 3 and combined her with some of the digi papers from the kit to create the cute little blackboard frame.

I really enjoyed making this up, especially playing with the red/auburn hair colouring and also teaching myself the blackboard technique even when i didnt have white pigment ink to play with.
The poor teacher has very thick glasses on, every time i added glossy to her glasses i bumped them, so it ended up 6 layers thick!

Please head over to the challenge blog and check out the current challenge and the DT inspiration.  Be sure to enter the challenge, we love to look at your creations.

ADU challenge time

Another card I made at a recent retreat, and big thanks to Mel who fussy cut all the fiddly bits for me.

Isn't this guy just a character, that grin just makes me smile.  I had some fun with this card, again using a polaroid die, trying to steer away from my normal white background.   Then i got some textured stamps out to mess up the background a bit, as that monkey looks like he has been causing mischief.

I would love to see lots of creations linked up on the challenge.  Remember to use an All Dressed up Image on your project.   The Challenge blog states all the rules and there is a Freebie available for use if you aren't yet an owner of these images.

Things with Wings at Polkadoodles

Polkadoodles has a brand new collection in the store, Work and Play 11 is filled with new characters, papers, cut files and more.  I hope to create a project with this kit for you by next week.

But this week I have been playing with some other cute characters.

I have been wanting to play with the Twiggy and Toots collection since it was released.   I was tempted to try the design sheets and to try a style thats new for me.   I loved how easy it was to create this card.  The colours are so vibrant and the images are too cute for words.   I printed my images onto gloss which gives it even more wow factor.

This is my first ever paper tole project and I can see it being a regular thing now.  I liked how I could choose how many layers to use but also that Nikky from Polkadoodles had guided the layers with what was on the design sheet.   You can purchase the whole kit or just the individual design sheet.   A perfect solution for those that either want a little or want a lot.  I do encourage you to search the store though as it has specials, sales and surprises within.

We all look forward to seeing your creations on the challenge blog with our theme of

Polkadoodles - Anything but Square

The challenge at Polkadoodles at the moment is Anything but Square and the DT were asked to make a shaped card.   I was leaning towards using some of the papers from the Work and play kids on a cupcake card but decided to go with a circular card with a sports theme.   Work and Play 6 has a variety of images and sentiments to play with but I was taken with the soccer ball embellishment.

I traced the soccer ball and the sentiment and cut them both in vinyl.  The vinyl gives the soccer ball a shiny finish just like it would have in real life.

The digital image is also in the kit but can be purchased seperately too.

My husband is a Chelsea FC fan and there is a rumour that Chelsea may play a friendly game in Australia at the end of May.  All going well I can get some tickets.. fingers crossed.

Be sure to check out the new store site and have a good look around, there is a coupon tab that you should check regularly and also a freebies section
.  I would love to see some creations on the challenge blog using these freebies.
Be sure to look closely and if you pay close attention someone who is on the ball will be rewarded if they have a keen eye for detail ;)

The latest addition to the Polkadoodle kit family is the  Twiggy and Toots collection.

I had a little play with it during the week and created a totally digital card, printed on gloss.   My youngest daughter was sitting looking at it and asking how I made it shine.  If she only knew it was simply printed with the help of beautiful artwork from Polkadoodles.  I will definitely be using the percolated(got to love auto correct )  precoloured images again.  This is all one layered but some of the other DT have used these images like decoupage and they are stunning.

Spring Lady - The East Wind

Isn't this image just beautiful, I couldn't wait to colour her up.

I often get worried about colouring hair but have decided just to go with the flow, but amusingly in my haste to take a photo of this beauty I forgot to colour her lips, this has since been rectified!

My main goal with this card was to use sepia tones on the dress and I'm really happy with the end result.  Its been a long time since I put ribbon or flowers on a card so it was nice to go back to that style for a change.  And my prima papers saw the light of day.

Look at this beauty, her name is Cabbage Butterflies.

I had made up the card base at a retreat with no idea of what to do with it until I saw the image.

I am so happy with how it turned out.  My youngest daughter was meant to be going to Japan and I had her in mind as I created this for her birthday.
