Challenges to play in

Retirement time

I have worked at the same place in different roles since 2007 and during that time my Director of Nursing at been nothing but supportive, even when she wasn't my direct supervisor I was able to go to her to ask her advice and just to run things by her to see if I was on the right track.  Since she has been my big boss, I have felt supported, trusted and encouraged.   I made this card with the intention of using the word Remember but So Very Thankful seemed more appropriate.

I created the sentiment with black vinyl cut on my cameo, I got a new blade system and everything is cutting beautifully.  The particular vinyl is Oracal 651.

Breaking out the Patterned Paper

I made up this card yesterday when I saw a new sketch blog, it made me reach for some new patterned paper pads and try my hand at the sketch.
I used papers from  Prisma pack and some dies and the cute little monkey from a CC Designs pack.

I have been wanting to join the CC design DT call but I have a limited supply of their rubber stamps, that said I have plenty of Amy R stamps, which they also sell.   I had a memory of this monkey in the back of my mind and went on the search to find him.  Glad I did.

Just playing

This card started as a card base that I cut a nice big frame into, the plan was to have an image overlaying the cut out and going from there, things changed though when I added embossed acetate and decided to put the image inside the card and keep the front fairly plain.

I havent stamped a rubber image stamp in so long, its was a nice change.  I grabbed my prisma pencils and coloured the Gorjuss girl in, have to admit I'm still not loving those pencils and I have two sets!   I will keep using them until I learn to love them.

I decorated the inside of the card under the frame, so the glue on the acetate wouldn't show.
Added some flowers and and sentiment and wallah, card complete.

Im going to put a post it note on the bottom of the card reminding myself to only write on the bottom of the card under the window, it would be ruined if a message was seen through the panel.

Im playing in a few challenges with this card

Teddy Bo Challenge - Bingo

My first official DT Card for Teddy Bo and Im a touch excited (yes still)

The new release is fabulous and I just love the Fawns, I know I shouldn't play favourites... but I will

New Release can be found over at the shop.
There are also some lovely Birthday Blue Buntings in this release too

The Challenge is Bingo

I actually forgot as I was so caught up in the card making and loving the image the challenge themed slipped my mind.  By pure luck I managed to score a bingo Diagonally down the board with
Glitter, Die Cut and Flowers

I have decided that I am not a fan of card bases and did this a card front and then made an easel to stand it up, I used the remaining remnant of the floral paper on the back and then cut a white panel with a spellbinder die which will be writing space.  I think I will use this technique again.   I wasn't overly impressed with the easel file though, I had to do some creative editing.

My fawn is coloured with E40's with a touch of R20 for highlights and just a little of BG13 for the flower.  I don't normally list colours but I will have them listed on the DT blog if you want more detail.

I found a sketch on Pinterest for my card, I really find they help my creativity in terms of layout.

Supporting a friend

A friend and I are always dieting, complaining about our weight and making plans for our next big success.  This week however we have actually stuck to it, contacted each other daily to see how we are going and it seems different.  I had both of us in mind when I printed this image up.  I loved the image when I bought it months ago but haven't had a chance to colour it.   I got a bit brave with my skin colouring on this image, going much darker in the shading, quite like it and this image lends itself to adding shadows.

Unfinished Projects on the craft table

I have a few hours up my sleeve today and thought I would play with some images I had coloured but the layout for the project was just alluding me.  Its still Anything Goes at Teddy Bo so it inspired me to finish off this card.
I used Fawny 001 for this card and printed him up big.

Ppinkydolls Dt Call

My first card by Ppinkydolls using

Ive started to get over the small issue of cutting into paper pads, I am not sure why it was ever an issue for me, I mean if I run out of paper I can buy more, right?

I cut the sentiment with my cameo and Oracal 651 Vinyl, the Birthday greeting is only 1/2cm tall, Im very impressed at the intricacy of the blade I got off ebay.  I have one set up for vinyl and another for card stock.

Im entering this card into the current DT call for Ppinkydoll Challenges.  They also have a call out for colourists and a New Release team.

Im late ---oops. Card Making Mama's goes Mini

This challenge the Mama's would like to see mini cards or tags.  We are happily and thankfully sponsored by Scrappers delights this fortnight and I was given a lovely image to play with.
I tried my hand at highlights in her hair, to be honest this frustrates me, I often get my colouring nearly perfect to my liking and then I add to much colour.   This image however I walked away, left her alone and proceeded to make the tag.  For anyone wanting to practice hair colouring, this image is a great one to practice on.  Her hair is drawn in a way that assists you to colour.
My lovely friend made me some foam hearts and it worked well with this tag. Ive only just started with this trend of adding thread behind embellishments, it certainly is an easy way to add some interest.

I had previously made some mini cards that also fit this challenge perfectly.  I have been busting to share these for a long time.   I was thrilled with the outcome when making these.  Clean and simple but elegant cards, that simply make me smile.
The sentiments are from Papertrey Ink, and the detail in that tiny font is fabulous considering it a clear stamp.  I definitely recommend them.

Please visit us over at Card Makin Mama's Challenge blog and enter your mini cards or tags so we can comment and a winner can be chosen.

Going Sparkly with Tiddly Inks

Ive been trying to make a card for the Tiddly challenge for weeks now, I have a fairy coloured from last weeks challenge but it never made it to the card.  This week however I had my image half coloured and just needed to find a sketch to work with for the background.  This certainly isn't my normal type of card base, I think the checked background is throwing me a little.  I made the sentiment with black cardstock, heat and stick powder and glitter as my american crafts glitter paper is was too thick to be cut with the die.

SSS Season Greetings Die

Teddy Bo new release and DT

Can I just say.. wow wow wow.  Im amazed, thrilled, honoured and many other emotions.  I think shocked too.  The DT for Teddybo was revealed yesterday and I am so happy and humbled to say I am part of the new kids on the block in the Teddy Bo DT.   In honour of the announcement I thought it best to showoff the new release graphics for you all to drool over.
The Teddy Bo Store awaits your visit, I can tell you that the Fawns are my new favourites, they are simply irresistible.

There is also a brand new challenge over at the Teddy Bo Challenge Blog, the challenge is going to be really busy, with Anything Goes as long as its Teddy Bo.

In celebration of being on such a fantastic DT, I popped into the store and bought my first Pinkie, this card started with a whole different layout, but my daughter walked in and changed it up to make it look like he was on a tightrope.

Aren't these images just adorable. ..

Im playing in some challenges too
