Aifactory - Christmas in July

This is my last post for Aifactory, as a new DT is going to be starting and I decided to step down.  Mainly as I just started full time study.. im only two days in and am in overload.  Here is my card this week following our theme of Christmas in July.. I used some older DP on this one, a tim holtz embossing folders and my Martha edge punch, add some remnant ribbon and a Kaszazz stamp and wallah.. i have decided I dont really like zig zag stitching.. pop on over to the Store for some freebies... and have fun.  The challenge will run till next thursday..

Monochrome Kraftin Kimmie Challenge

I can tell you,  your going to get sick of these images way before I do, Im in LOVE with them.  I justcoloured up Rupunzel for the Monochrome challenge over at Kraftin Kimmies.  My colour is blue.. I hope that is obvious.
Erin my ten year old says its got too much green in it, but in reality I just didnt have any blue DP paper that went with this.  Its hard to tell in the photo but if you enlarge it you can see the flowers are actually blue... honestly!
Hope you like her.
Pen.

Candy Baby

Ive put off my Magnolia avoidance for long enough and now I own ONE and its a fence!!  Guess how happy I am to tell you about this candy.. head on over to Kellie's blog and link yourselves up.  Even though its a futile exercise.. as I would love to win it!!

it gets even better.. wait for it theres more

Crafting just for fun!

Its been a while since I made a card just for the fun of it, NO Design Team requirement's needed etc.
Now if you have been reading my blog for a while you would know that I am trying to organise my crafting area, tools, supplies etc.. well I'm nearly there.  I have my cuttlebug folders in special binders, I have my nests in magnetised sheets and I have my stamps sorted so all I have to do is flip through a a4 binder find what page the stamp I want is on and then get it out of the storage binder that its in. Its been a costly little exercise but so nice to know where nearly everything is.  Even my kids are using my things, as they can see them!  The only thing I can never find is a lead pencil! (Deby if your reading this.. stop shaking your head... Im much more organised than what i was)
Ok.. enough rambling, lets get onto the fun stuff.
Ive been wanting to play with masking for a while now and I am thinking of showing "masking" as a mad minute at craft camp if they need volunteers.  So I got practicing!
Picture one is of my image masked and prior to colouring with copics.
I used a magnolia picket fence, kraftin kimmie red riding hood and finally.. my stampscape stamps.  My aim was to make it look like red riding hood was about to enter the forest.. I think it looks great, im slowly learning about perspective.  In terms of stamps, this is using a grass stamp and a few pine tree stamps and the cloud stamp which didnt work that well but it served its purpose (its in blue)
Here is the finished product.
Ive since coloured in a  little around her shoes, where it was obvious she was masked off.
In terms of what did i stamp first.
I stamped Red riding hood, then the fence, then grass, then tree's then clouds.  I have no clue if thats the right order but I think it worked!

I have gone on a little blog hop to find some challenges to enter.. its been a while since ive done that!
Corrosive challenge wants a cartoon character (im sure red riding hood was in cartoon?)
Crafty Creations wants happy or sweet
Mami Doodles anything goes (and ive just discovered their cute images..)
Artfulinables -make you own background or special background technique
Creative inspriations Anything goes
The Secret Crafter- Fairytales

Thanks for popping in!

Oh dear oh dear oh dear

I let my daughter use  my copics... I was stressing the whole time and kept saying to myself.. its OK i can get new nibs if i need to... My eldest daugther who rarely shows interest in my craft wanted to try too... so I had double stress.. They both did such a good job and now they know why i love colouring with copics.... my secret is no longer.
Anyway, here is Erins blog (she is 10) and here is the card she made!  The of only thing I helped with was using the nestabilities and trying out this thing i saw on stamp tv, where you use a nestability for most of an image.  This girl  is so big (her hair) if we used a nest to cover the whole image she would of taken up most of the card~
Should of seen erin freaking out when I said this is the first time ive tried this!  She made me do a test run and everything!
This image is one of my brand spankin new Kraftin Kimmies - Red Riding Hood!  isn't she awesome!

I did it Creations - Buttons and Bows

This week at I did it creations we were challenged to use Buttons and Bows.
My bow isnt frilly and full however... I think I may take this card apart and put a mount under the main image to make it pop some more.

To enter the challenge you are encouraged to use

an image from the current sponsor but it isn't necessary. To be in the weekly drawing you must use an
image by current sponsor Lil Diva, well worth entering as your prize will be from Lil Diva!!

Our Recipe this week is
Blue, bows and buttons

I used a white card front that i had embossed and never used in a project, i cut it down and rounded the corners and then grabbed my nest's and overlaid them a little.  I also tried tip to tip colouring with copics to try and get a new pink colour.  Its not as easy as all the video tutorials make it out to be!

Aifactory Challenge 44

This week the team over at Aifactory were sponsored by Laurie at the Doodle Factory and we got to choose from two lovely flower images!  I chose this buttercup to play with as it was a little easier to colour!
Our theme this week is Flowers and I wanted to make the image from Doodle pantry the star!
I am sure many people will want to play along in this weeks challenge at the Aifactory Challenge blog, dont forget to visit the store for some freebies to play with too!

Creatalicious Challenge Time

This is my last Design Team post  it was my choice for the theme this month for Creatalicious
Show Some 3D - this can be anything ( a box, paper tole, bag...etc... the possibilities are endless...)
And ofcourse in true Penny style i struggled to think of something to make.  I decided with this book which I also made in the Kaszazz papers in a workshop, its called Special Moments Album.  It needs to have photos and wording added inside but the actual 3d project is complete!

The book is only 4.5inches tall and 3.5 inches wide and would fit in a handbag so easily.. the idea is it can be posted through the mail trouble free!

Creatlicious challenges run monthly which is great as it means you have time to think about your project, I love how many entries they get on the blog and the entries are always so varied.  The creativity each month is really amazing!  Three cheers for everyone who enters!

I did it Creations Challenge

How beautiful is this image from Stitchy Stamps, I got to pick this for our Special Occasions challenge this week!  She just was begging to be coloured up and for some reason I grabbed a peach orange for her dress and immediately loved it!
I have stamped a sentiment in the card, as I didnt want too much more than the Enjoy on the front.
My youngest daughter has already claimed this card for one of her friends.. so thats encouraging!

So are you ready to play?
First of all pop on over to the Challenge blog and see what's going on, look at all the DT projects and see if there is a freebie up for grabs!
Create your Special occasion project and link it up for us all to see!

This week you will have a chance to win a prize from Stitchy Stamps, but to be in the running for this prize you must use the sponsors image.

Have fun everyone and don't forget the I did it Forums and up and running!

Cooking it up with Katie

Cooking it up with Katie this week is sponsored by Meljen Designs and our recipe was fun!
Use a sketch, add some yellow and add some stitching (real or faux)
Sunflower Buggies is the name of my image! cute isnt it.

I kept this project simple, I got my sketch from splitcoast stampers and off I went on with my creation.
Everything except my card base is from the stash, got to love that!

I did it Creations Challenge

Robyn of Robyns Fetish put her hand up to Sponsor us at the last minute... (me secretly rubbing my hands together as this meant... I get to choose another wonderful image to play with.. and I love Robyns images~)
I chose this image
I played with Digital Scrapbook Artist to save some time.. and here is what the card looks like before colouring the image and then coloured and printed, the printer must of been on fast print? as the colours are way off.

I think if I wanted to print digital cards more often I would have to try alternate card stock, as this looks very flat on the matt card stock.  I don't even know if the printer would like to print on gloss.. maybe I'll test that next time!

To enter the challenge you are encouraged to use

an image from the current sponsor but it isn't necessary. To be in the weekly drawing you must use an

image by current sponsor Robyns Fetish, well worth entering as your prize will be from Robyns Fetish!!

I was invited to participate in Operation Blog Tour
and here are the guidelinesMake a birthday card to post. Any theme, any style, just no glitter! Please make a NEW card for the tour...share some fresh mojo!
Add some fun to your post! Tell a birthday card story, post a patriotic video, or offer a tutorial or blog candy. Surprise us!

My funny card story is a little bit silly, I will have to tell you about Mothers Day this year.
I made two seperate cards both very different and the sentiments in each were based on the mothers recieving them.  My mother, likes cherished thoughts, love and mushy.. while my husbands mum likes jokes and laughs..
Imagine their shock when they get the wrong cards, my mother in law thought it was funny that she got flowers and sooky sentiments while my mother was just plain old dissapointed with jokes, laugh's and a silly little image.. so much so she gave me the card back!! NICE one MUM!!

Im playing along in the Aifactory Challenges with Red White and Blue this week.
